Our approach:
The New Organising Conference and associated events focus on:
Bringing together participants from diverse backgrounds with common goals
Who have complementary skills experience and assets
In a structure that maximises learning and collaboration
This matters because:
We know our movements are strongest when they reflect the diversity of the people within them. Bringing together trade unionists, community organisers, not-for-profit organisations, lawyers, academics, and others allows us to learn from different experiences, skills, and perspectives, strengthening our impact.
Diversity makes us stronger
We are all experts
Collaboration is how we win
Impact grows when movements work together intentionally. By bringing organisers, campaigners, and leaders across sectors into shared strategic conversations, we help align efforts, surface common challenges, and strengthen collective action.
Lived experience is essential to effective organising. Everyone in the room has knowledge to share. By creating space for participants to teach, learn, and exchange practical tools and insights, we support collective growth and shared leadership.
Connection creates power
Strong relationships are the foundation of lasting change. Our in-person events bring people together to connect meaningfully, participate more fully, and build trust, to form lasting collaborations that bring us closer to shared wins and outcomes.
Innovation & adaptability are needed
Organising must evolve to meet changing conditions. We encourage creativity, experimentation, and reflection, learning from both successes and setbacks, so that together we can develop new strategies and build stronger collective power.
